L9 - Coleman LP
LOW PROFILE, FLEXIBLE FIT
Suggested L-code: L3000
UCB TYPE
Custom congruent to patient using: Plaster, Foam, STS, 3D Scanner, Pedobarography, Existing Positive Model, Redimold
Current timing for delivery: 2 weeks. Expedited on availability.
Recommended For: Low volume athletic and walking shoes, plantarflexed 1st ray deformities, rigid cavovarus architecture
Clinical Indications: Cavovarus deformity, Rigid plantar-flexed first ray, Flexible rearfoot
The Coleman LP is designed to fit a wider range of shoe gear than its full-length counterpart, the A9 Coleman. This lower volume model gives the cavovarus patient more flexibility with fashionable and stylish footwear options. Like many other low profile models, the heel cup has been reduced, the posting has been made intrinsic, and a plantar grind has been added to reduce bulk. To balance the first ray, this low-profile model is built to sulcus length with a reverse Morton’s extension. A two-degree valgus wedge is used to correct for the accompanying supination (reduced from the standard model’s three-degree wedge). Although built for low-profile shoes, this device may require some extra room, so a larger shoe size may be necessary to accommodate. The Coleman LP device is constructed with a positive model of the patient’s foot and can be modified at the practitioner’s discretion.
