Function:

  • Evert metatarsals/metheads
  • Pronate midtarsal joint
  • Resist/reduce forefoot supinatus
  • Support forefoot valgus

Clinical Indication:

  • Excessive or compensatory STJ supination
  • Forefoot valgus
  • Plantarflexed 1st ray

About:
In a valgus extension, a 3mm thick forefoot, Myolite padding extends from the distal aspect of shell to level of sulcus or toes. It is thicker laterally and tapers until there is no material under the 1st metatarsal head. This extension is indicated to accommodate a forefoot valgus.

Function:

  • Evert metatarsals/metheads
  • Pronate midtarsal joint
  • Resist/reduce forefoot supinatus
  • Support forefoot valgus
