As most of you know, the DME MAC fee schedule is updated yearly. As opposed to the complex formula of RVU’s for the physician fee schedule, the DME fee schedule is primarlly formulated based on the Consumer Price Index. While the schedule is primarily updated yearly (usually announced in December), there are also quarterly updates. Here are some examples of common DMEPOS which you may be familiar with.
Note that fees for services covered by the Therapeutic Shoe Program for Patients with Diabetes (AKA TSPD) are nationwide. All other DMEPOS, have their fee schedules based on the patient’s legal address and not your office location.
